So I have the best calling like ever! My calling is Activity Day Leader! My family and I attend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My calling Activity Days allows me to work with girls ages 8-11yrs old and it's an absolute BLAST! These girls are so much fun to work with and I enjoy being able to put together super fun activities for them! Last year we did a Mother Daughter Christmas Party, and this year we thought a Daddy Daughter Hoedown was in order!

I had this calling 4 years ago in 2014. I did that one in summer (June). If you want details for the summer one you can click HERE.
We started with a planning day! The girls helped me write down a list of ideas of games, food and activities that they would like to do. I took that list and from there planned out the night! I printed out some cowboy boot templates and brought some rhinestone gems for the girls to glue them onto. We used these as their invites! The girls had SO much fun making the invites and couldn't wait to deliver them to their dads!
After I had the plan all laid out, it was time to put it together! My AMAZING sister in law Beyleigh, helped me shop for all the items and set it all up! She's a complete rockstar! My dear friend Jodee brought all the food which was a huge help! I couldn't have done it without these ladies! We had about 30 people total show up which was AWESOME and we had them all wear their best cowboy and cowgirl outfits for the party!
Here is the photo booth! I found the metal harvest sign for $3 at Hobby Lobby! The pom poms and the backdrop were from the Dollar Store. The backdrop is just a plastic thanksgiving themed table cloth. The pumpkins we had left over from Halloween.
Here are the props for the Photo Booth! Some were from the Daddy Daughter Activity from 4 years ago, and the others were from the dollar store and Hobby Lobby. They had a package of Hoedown themed photo booth props which were perfect!
Our little photo corner!
Our music station! I borrowed this from my SIL and it worked PERFECT!
Our relay race stations. We had 4 stations set up.
I found 2 bags of these sheriff bags at Hobby Lobby! They were perfect! Every girl and dad got to have their own badge for the night!
The pumpkin center pieces I found at the Dollar Store. Put these center pieces on the tables with candy corn sprinkled around them.
Found these darling leaf platters at the dollar store as well and filled them with some delicious candy corn! You can't have a hoedown with candy corn! Or maybe it's just me that loves candy corn!
Filled all the pitchers up with ice and water for drinks.
This was our "shooting" station, where they could practice their aim!
The tables looking out at our relay race area and dancing area!
Our food table!
Meat, Cheese and Crackers, & 2 Fruit Platters!
Veggie tray with Rice Krispies!
Homemade cookies by Jodee!
The cookie toppers were found from Hobby Lobby.
Some home made Caramel Popcorn made by me!
THE NIGHT
We started the night off gathering in a circle and playing the get to know you game!
1 bowl of skittles and 1 bowl of peanut butter M&M's! Each person needed to grab a handful of whatever candy they wanted. Whatever color they had the most of was the question they had to answer.
These were the questions that they had to answer depending on what color they had the most of. It was a great way to get to know everyone!
After the get to know you game we played telephone! The first word was Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious. The 2nd I used was "Today I went to the grocery store" Both of those got mixed up and brought lots of laughter! Everyone loved it and it helped loosen us all up and get us ready for our Game part of the evening!
To start the games I split everyone into 4 separate teams.
The first activity we did was a 3 legged race! The first team to get everyone across won!
Next was the Potato Relay AKA the Poop the Potato! Each team member went across 1 at a time. Once they dropped the potato in the bucket, then the next team mate could make their way across. They had to hold the potato in between their knees. They had to get the potato across the room and drop it in the bucket. They could get the potato across the room any way they wanted as long as they didn't touch it! The ways were creative and it was hilarious to watch! We got some good laughs!

The next game we played is called the brown bag race. Each brown bag had 14 cards in it. Each team member goes across 1 at a time. They had to draw a card and do what the card said. Then they had to run back to their team and tag their next teammate! The first team to get all their teammates across won! Some examples of the cards were -
Do 10 Jumping Jacks
Crawl on all 4's back to your team member while saying "beep beep I'm a jeep!"
Sing Head Shoulders Knees and Toes with actions
Say the alphabet backwards
Jump Rope 6 times (got the jump ropes from the dollar store)
After all the games, we took a nice and much needed break for food and drinks for everyone!
After refreshments we had each daddy daughter group come over and use the photo booth for pictures! They turned out super cute! The props were awesome! I had a paper for them to write down their names and their email addresses. At the end of the night I uploaded all the photos and videos to Google Photos and emailed the album link to everyone so everyone could download their photos and videos of them and their daughters! Easiest way to share the pics with everyone!
When the food and pictures were all done, we started the dancing portion of the night. The first dance I taught them was Cotton Eyed Joe. After teaching them the dance we did it with music! They dominated it!
After the Cotton Eyed Joe, my husband and I taught them all a line dance!
At the end of the night we got a group photo with everyone and their props! We had a fantastic night with everyone and could not have asked for a better group of people to spend the night with! We had so much fun and I enjoyed being able to throw such a fun party for these girls and their dads! A fantastic and memorable night!
